Dashboard Preview Screen Overview
Dashboard Setup screen > Preview button
The dashboard preview screen shows the dashboard configuration results, displaying the dashboard as it appears for users.
The dashboard heading reflects the name that you selected in the Dashboard Name field on the Dashboard Setup screen. For example, if you specified Caseworker in the Dashboard Name field, the dashboard heading is Caseworker.
Below the heading, sections appear that correspond to the selected activity types. Examples are Resident Activity, Recerts, and Verifications. Each of these sections displays the activities that you selected. For example, if you selected the Resident Activity activity type and the move-in and move-out activities, Move In and Move Out appear in the Resident Activity section.
For activities that have not been completed, a number appears on the right side of the activity. For example, if eighteen move-ins need to be completed, the number 18 appears on the right side of Move In.
On the right side of the dashboard, a section appears that is headed with today's date. This section displays one of the following two fields: Employee or Prop/List. You can review the tasks for an employee or property by clicking the field name link and selecting the employee or property.
The field name depends on the selection that you made in the Dashboard Filter field on the Dashboard Setup screen.
The following graphic shows top part of the dashboard preview screen. The user has configured this dashboard for caseworkers who have been assigned to a property.
In the middle part of the screen, tabs appear. Typically, the tab headings are Calendar, Dashboard, and Person Search.
The tabs depend on the selections that you made on the Dashboard Setup screen. For example, if you did not make any selections on the Persons to Search tab of the Dashboard Setup screen, the Person Search tab does not appear on the dashboard preview screen.
Calendar Tab
The Calendar tab displays the appointments associated with the selected property or employee. The calendar appointments appear as links. You can click the link to review the source record.
The following graphic shows the Calendar tab, displaying the scheduled appointments for the selected employee inspector.
Dashboard Tab
The Dashboard tab displays a list of activities according to the selected activity type.
For information to appear, you must click a number link on the right side of an activity type in the top part of the screen. When you click the number link, the Dashboard tab heading changes to correspond with that activity type, and a list of activities appears. There is one row of information for each activity.
For example, if the dashboard has a Verification section displaying the number 5 on the right side of the word Scheduled, clicking the number 5 changes the Dashboard tab heading to Scheduled, followed by the system date, and a list of five scheduled verification activities appears.
If you can review the underlying records, buttons appear on the right side of the activities list. The button column heading changes, depending on the activities that you are reviewing.
For example, if you are reviewing overdue inspections, the button column heading is Schedule Letter, and clicking the button displays a scheduling letter that you can print and send to the family. If you are reviewing verification information, the button column heading is Go to Verifications, and clicking the button displays the Family Verifications screen for the applicant or resident.
In the following graphic, the user has clicked the number 5 on the right side of the word Scheduled. The Dashboard tab heading has changed to Scheduled followed by the system date, and five scheduled verification activities appear.
Person Search Tab
Use the Person Search tab to search your database for prospects, applicants, residents, family members, landlords, employees, and vendors.
The types of people that you can find depends on the selections you made on the Persons to Search tab of the Dashboard Setup screen. For more information, see “Dashboard Setup Screen Overview”.
For each record, one row of information appears. The information includes the type of person, code, name, Social Security number, unit, status, phone number, email, and address. The Person Type and Code fields appear as links. You can click the link to view the source record; for example, the Applicant, Resident, or Landlord screen.
The following graphic shows the Person Search tab. The user has found two people by specifying a property and first name.
